The website is owned and maintained by My Colourful Memories CIC, which is designed as a resource for caregivers of people living with dementia. Additionally, the site is a resource for My Colourful Memories CIC volunteers and independent consultants. 


To prevent spam, we collect the IP addresses of visitors who post comments on our sites. We also collect the browser’s user agent string when a visitor posts a comment.

To determine whether you are using Gravatar, an anonymised string derived from your email address (also known as a hash) may be transmitted to Gravatar.

You may find Gravatar’s Privacy Policy at https://en.gravatar.com/site/terms-of-service. Once your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be visible.

Contact forms Cookies

You can opt in by storing your name, email address, and website in cookies if you submit a comment on this website. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to enter your details again every time you leave a comment. The cookies will remain active for one year.

On our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. Cookies containing no personal information are discarded when you close your browser.

Our system will also set up several cookies when you log in to store your login information and your preferences for screen display. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Your login will remain active for two weeks if you select “Remember Me”. In the event of editing or publishing an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. A cookie does not contain any personal information, but simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, distribute or share your personal information with any other third-party company, community group, business, or organization. We collect your personal information purely for the purpose of providing you with a bespoke service. However, your data may be shared for legal, security, or protection purposes. It may be necessary for us to disclose your personal data by law or regulations, or by competent governmental or judicial authorities. We retain your data for a period of time

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. This includes any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Individuals and organisations using the resources must be responsible for their use. MCM is not responsible for the un-safe or irresponsible use of these resources.

Although this company does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence. Exclusions and limitations are only valid to the extent permitted by law. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights. 

 Announcement of Changes

The site reserves the right to modify these terms from time to time as we see fit, and your continued use indicates your acceptance of any changes. Our home page and other key pages of the site will announce any changes to our privacy policies. Whenever we make changes to the way we use the Personally Identifiable Information of our site customers will be notified to those affected by e-mail or postal mail. Our web site will be updated 30 days before any changes are implemented. Therefore, you should reread this statement periodically.

The user and ourselves are bound by these terms and conditions.
